Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in architecting and developing scalable backend systems and APIs. You'll mentor junior engineers, influence architectural decisions, and be at the forefront of driving innovation across our product stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems and APIs with cross-functional teams
• Develop scalable, performant backend services and data models
• Lead design of high-performance RESTful APIs with async processing
• Optimize PostgreSQL database schemas and query performance
• Review code for best practices, security, and maintainability
• Contribute to system architecture and backend design decisions
• Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
• Stay updated with industry best practices and tech trends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in CS, EE, or related technical field (Master’s preferred)
• 5–10 years of experience in backend development (product-based preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Python
• 3+ years hands-on with FastAPI, async programming, Pydantic models
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL: schema design, optimization
• Expertise in RESTful API design, async handling, background tasks
• Strong unit/integration testing practices for backend services
• Understanding of backend architecture patterns: caching, message queues
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills
